An 82-year-old man who was reported missing Monday has been found, and Peoria police said Automated License Plate Reader cameras played a role in locating him.
Police responded Sept. 14 to a report of a missing 82-year-old man, Joseph F. Brezina, who had left for a doctor’s appointment but never arrived. He was driving a 2020 red Honda CRV and was last seen at 1 p.m. near 91st Avenue and Watson Lane.
“Thanks to ALPR technology, Joseph was located safely within approximately 2½ hours of being reported missing. The technology played a critical role in quickly locating Joseph and likely helped prevent what could have been a much more serious outcome,” Peoria police stated in a social media release.
