Police close Phoenix teen homicide case after suspect takes own life

A 67-year-old man suspected in the killing of a teenager has taken his own life, and Phoenix police said the murder case has been closed.

Nohe Prado Morelia was found dead as police were investigating the shooting death of Kyelonna Meya Smiley, 15, authorities stated Wednesday in a release.

The suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Police close Phoenix teen homicide case after suspect takes own life

A 67-year-old man suspected in the killing of a teenager has taken his own life, and Phoenix police said the murder case has been closed.

Nohe Prado Morelia was found dead as police were investigating the shooting death of Kyelonna Meya Smiley, 15, authorities stated Wednesday in a release.

The suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

The 15-year-old girl was found dead last week inside an apartment, Phoenix police said in an earlier release.

Officers responded 9:40 a.m. Aug. 4 to the apartment near 77th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard where they found the girl dead at the scene.
