Police arrest suspect in deadly downtown Phoenix stabbing

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal Saturday night stabbing of Kyle Richardson, Phoenix police said.

Richardson, 32, was found about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 23 by police with a critical stab wound near 200 South 11th Avenue. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a release.

The suspect, Edward Loper, was spotted walking in the area, detained and booked into jail, police said. He is charged with second-degree murder.
