Police arrest brothers suspected of West Valley Auto Zone thefts
(Buckeye Police Department)
Two brothers have been arrested in connection with “multiple high-dollar thefts” in the West Valley, Buckeye Police said.
Three times from Dec. 29 through Jan. 2, the same man was reported entering the Auto Zone locations on Watson Road and Indian School Road, stealing tools and leaving in a black Volvo SUV that did not have a license plate.
Buckeye officers used resources from the Real Time Information Center to find a vehicle that had been seen near the stores around the time of the thefts and had the same “unique features with a mounted license plate,” according to a release.

Buckeye officers used resources from the Real Time Information Center to find a vehicle that had been seen near the stores around the time of the thefts and had the same “unique features with a mounted license plate,” according to a release.
The plate number was entered into a database as part of the investigation.
Buckeye police received an alert Jan. 3 from a license plate reader that the suspect vehicle had entered the city. Officers located the SUV and conducted a traffic stop.
Mark Perez, 32, was identified as the man who had entered the stores to steal the merchandise, police said.
His brother, 28-year-old Alan Perez, was identified as the getaway driver. Both were arrested and booked on theft and drug charges, police said.
