Police arrest 18-year-old man a year after Goodyear house party shooting

Police investigators have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection to the death of a 19-year-old man who was at a house party, police say.
The Phoenix man, Angel Vidales-Hernandez, was booked into the Maricopa County Jail Wednesday after a yearlong investigation revolving around the shooting death of Mohamed Salim Abdullah. Hernandez is being held on $500,000 bond.
The incident took place on May 14th, 2022, when officers from the Goodyear Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at a large residential party located near Litchfield Road and Western Avenue.

Police investigators have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection to the death of a 19-year-old man who was at a house party, police say.
The Phoenix man, Angel Vidales-Hernandez, was booked into the Maricopa County Jail Wednesday after a yearlong investigation revolving around the shooting death of Mohamed Salim Abdullah. Hernandez is being held on $500,000 bond.
The incident took place on May 14th, 2022, when officers from the Goodyear Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at a large residential party located near Litchfield Road and Western Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers were met with a chaotic situation as gunshots rang out from various unidentified vehicles attempting to flee the scene. Officers discovered a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds.
The officers provided immediate medical attention to Abdullah. However, Abdullah succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
Police reportedly seized security footage, which led to the arrest of Hernandez.
“Goodyear Police Department would like to express their gratitude to the community for their support and cooperation throughout the investigation,” said the department in a press release. “The arrest of Angel Vidales-Hernandez is a testament to the combined efforts of law enforcement and the public in ensuring the safety and security of our neighborhoods.”
