The Apache Junction Police Department partnering with other agencies arrested 10 people as part of an operation targeting individuals using the internet and social media to solicit minors for sex.
Local, state and federal authorities conducted the two-day operation June 5-6 when undercover investigators posed as minors online “and communicated with individuals who believed they were arranging meetings with children under the age of consent,” an Apache Junction Police Department release stated Monday.
“Investigators established probable cause through documented communications and coordinated meetings at a controlled location, where suspects were taken into custody.”
