Plans to build new offices/housing at Paiute Center on hold

Maricopa County not funding grant for the projects

The Scottsdale City Council is expected during it’s Feb. 20 meeting to defund it’s share of two projects to build new office space and affordable/bridge housing at Pauite Center as the county board of supervisors has decided not to fund a $6.6 million grant for the housing.

Plans for building new buildings for the aging Paiute Center along with affordable/bridge housing on the site are on hold.

The Scottsdale City Council is expected to defund its share of the two projects during its Feb. 20 meeting.

The move is due to Maricopa County pulling $6.6 million from the housing project, said Scottsdale Community Services Assistant Executive Director Judy Doyle.
