Plans for North Mountain Park renovations back on track after delays

Plans to restore trails and renovate structures at North Mountain Park in Phoenix are rolling again after years of delay, a Parks Department official told a committee this week.

An initial survey for the renovations went out in late 2022, and the Parks Board approved the project on Nov. 16, 2023. However, delays have led to little progress since then, said Parks Supervisor Claire Miller.

“We’re very excited things are finally starting to move a little bit after having been stalled out for a little bit of reasons beyond our control,” Miller told the Sonoran Preserves and Mountain Parks/Preserves Committee on Monday.
