Planned carport conversion to garage approved by Mesa adjustment board
A carport can be enlarged and converted to a garage at a home in the Fountain of the Sun master-planned community, the Mesa Board of Adjustment decided Wednesday.
“This request is a modification to a planned-area development, and the purpose would allow an addition to the existing carport within the required front yard of the zoning district,” Mesa Planner Charlotte Bridges said during an April 7 study session for the board. “You can see their truck is parked in their carport, and the truck does not fit in that little carport,” she said, showing a photo of the home at 928 S. 80th St.
