Pinal County’s problematic primary election cycle has come to a close.
At a special meeting on Friday, Aug. 12, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors approved the canvass of the election results of the Aug. 2 primary election.
Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmer has explained that canvassing the results is a “ministerial” function the board is obligated to perform. The board, however, does not canvass municipal elections, with that responsibility in the hands of city and town officials. Florence will canvass and certify its election results at the town’s upcoming council meeting on Monday, Aug. 15
