Posted

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors recently elected Supervisor Anthony Smith from District No. 4 to be chairman and Supervisor Pete Rios from District No. 1 to be vice chairman, effective Jan 1, 2020-Dec. 21, 2020.

The elections were held at the board's Dec. 18 meeting, according to a release.

"I very much appreciate the confidence my fellow Supervisors have in my ability to lead and serve. It's an important opportunity for me," Supervisor Smith  said in the release.

"This upcoming year will be one of building upon the momentum we have already generated these last few years. I believe 2020 will see Pinal County and our communities break more records in job growth, share prosperity at all income levels with record low unemployment and increase the quality of life for all," he said.

“My colleagues continue to be non-partisan on this board as I am. I sincerely appreciate their willingness to work as a team for the betterment of all the constituents in Pinal county," Vice Chairman Rios said in the release.

"Our positive past record on economic development and attracting huge projects and jobs to the county is a result of that. We look forward to a great 2020 and more accomplishments for the people of Pinal county,” he said.
