The National Weather Service has added Pinal County to its excessive heat warning list, which extends to Thursday.

Pinal and La Paz counties came under the warning today, joining Maricopa and Yuma counties, which have been under the advisory since Aug. 15, according to an Arizona Department of Health Services release.

“Dangerously high temperatures up to 116 degrees are expected with the potential to cause life-threatening illnesses or even death,” the release stated.
