The Pinal County Historical Museum in Florence has received a $50,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
The historical museum will use the funds to hire a part-time collections manager to work with paid interns on project activities. The activities will include a comprehensive inventory and an update of the museum’s collections records.
Through the project, the museum hopes to improve collection stewardship and make recommendations for future collections care, including long-term planning and possible removal.
The Pinal County Historical Museum is located at 715 S. Main St. The museum is closed for the month of August and will reopen on Sept. 1.
