Dale Lane remains largely a mess from 163rd Avenue to Surprise’s western border, but talks of solutions to make the road drivable are turning into action.
Surprise staff presented the progress and the proposed next steps during the Dec. 5 City Council work session.
In 2001, the city of Surprise put down a two-lane asphalt road on Dale in the Saguaro Acres development at its northern border. It should not have. Private owners of the right of way on Dale served the city with a cease and desist order on road maintenance in 2006.
