Pickleball scene still rising in Surprise

Courts packed as popularity still growing

Gigi LeMaster has the perfect name to be one of the masters of her craft.

Among pickleball players at the Surprise Pickleball Courts, she’s sort of a legend.

The two-time Pickleball Hall of Fame nominee is a six-time U.S. Open champion and 12-time national champion. And she’s also a Surprise resident who moved here specifically to play the growing sport that combines tennis, ping pong and badminton.
