City of Chandler celebrated Diwali Festival of Lights on Saturday, Oct. 22, featuring a day full of family fun, live performances, food and activities.
The free Festival of Lights event was hosted at Kyrene de la Paloma Elementary School, in Chandler.
Diwali, which is also known as the Festival of Lights, is a Hindu religious festival and one of the most important festivals within Hinduism. It generally lasts five days and gets its name from the row of clay lamps that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness.
