Phoenix’s wildfire response efforts have ramped up in recent years

Phoenix Fire Department officials are cognizant of the dangers of wildfires impinging on urban areas, more so after the recent Los Angeles blazes that caused hundreds of billions of dollars in damage.

Department officials updated Phoenix councilors and officials on its preparedness plans for brush fires this week.

“This is a topic that we’ve gotten a lot of questions about lately,” Mayor Kate Gallego said, in light of the destructive wildfires in Southern California.
