A preliminary map shows the Halo Vista development in north Phoenix which essentially surrounds Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. The 2,340-acre master-planned development — dubbed Halo Vista — is expected to help the area shine in a big way, as local officials hope the area can transform into a new silicon city.

A buzz is surrounding the sizable chunk of land on the fringe of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. in north Phoenix.

Now, the 2,340-acre master-planned development — dubbed Halo Vista — is expected to help the area shine in a big way, as local officials hope the area can transform into a new silicon city.

The land, which essentially surrounds TSMC to the west, north and east, was purchased by Mack Real Estate Group for $56.28 million at an Arizona State Land Department auction in May.
