Phoenix's first privately funded Cool Corridor coming

Planting starts next month

As the city of Phoenix plans to plant trees to create its first nine “Cool Corridors” in the summer, the city’s first privately funded Cool Corridor will begin work next month.

The nonprofit American Forests spearheaded a group of donors to plant about 200 trees along the north side of Cesar Chavez Park, on Baseline Road between 35th and 39th avenues.

This privately funded Cool Corridor will be the first in the city to begin planting. There will be a celebration event Saturday, April 16.
