Phoenix's Acacia Library seeks historic designation

Phoenix’s Acacia Library is seeking to become the first public library building in the city to receive a historic preservation designation.

The Historic Preservation Commission on Monday unanimously approved the initiation of Historic Preservation Overlay Zoning for the property at 750 E. Townley Ave. in Phoenix’s Sunnyslope neighborhood.

The overlay still needs to be approved by the Phoenix Planning Commission and Phoenix City Council.
