This year’s 602 Day celebration was more than four times bigger than the city’s first celebration in 2024.

The first 602 Day, a community event on June 2 in honor of the city’s 602 area code, saw 100 local businesses and organizations participating in 2024. In 2025, that number more than doubled to 250. It nearly doubled again for this year’s celebration to 450.

The city is already planning for next year’s 602 day, and is increasing the goal for participating organizations to, fittingly, 602.
