Summer temperatures are here, but the Phoenix Zoo is expecting snow.
SRP will treat several animals at the Phoenix Zoo to snow in their habitats to help them cool off and beat the summer heat from 7 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 27. Guests will see African lions, Bornean orangutans, African vultures, meercats, and more experiencing the snow.
Ten tons of snow will be distributed among the various habitats. The zoo’s staff will also create frozen treats for some of the animals to enjoy.
SRP will cool off guests to the zoo by offering free ice cream from Mr. Softee from 9 to 11 a.m. at the zoo entrance, while quantities last.
SRP customers can enjoy a $10 discount on admission for Snow Day on Friday, June 27, as well as every Friday and Saturday through Aug. 30.
