So Swift Athletics, a USATF-affiliated Youth Track & Field Club, has opened registration for its preseason conditioning program in North Central Phoenix.
Starting Monday, Nov. 6, children aged 5-18 can train from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in November and December at Sunnyslope High School, 35 W. Dunlap Ave., in Phoenix.
Cost is $75 per athlete.
The Central Phoenix Track and Field Club has been training and mentoring youth athletes since 2020 while learning the fundamentals of track & field.
Many of their athletes have competed and placed nationally at the USA Track & Field National Championships in the past few years, including this summer’s nationals in Eugene, Oregon, including:
- Aniyah Martin, 14 - 400m hurdles and long jump
- Eric Shaff, 12 - 100m, 200m and 400m
- Julian Ferrari, 14 - 100m, 200m, and long jump
- Lauren Fields, 8 - 200m and 400m
- Jerimiah Fairbairn, 8 - 400m
- Hans Kugler, 13 - triple jump
- Sarah Marquez, 9 - high jump
