Phoenix will spend $3M more of budget surplus

Spending includes high school workforce program, gated alleys and roadway safety

The city of Phoenix plans to spend $3 million more of its budget surplus on city services and projects.

The three largest beneficiaries of the added funds will be a workforce training program for high school students, a program to gate alleyways and funding for roadway safety improvements.

No official vote was taken during Tuesday’s city council meeting, but council members seemed generally in support of the items as proposed by city staff.
