Phoenix traffic fatality numbers slightly improve, still rank poorly nationally

Phoenix has ranked among the worst cities in the country for traffic safety, but some of those safety rates are have improved in recent years.

Fatal crashes had increased in Phoenix from 2015 until a peak in 2022. Since then, they have slightly decreased.

Serious injury crashes, however, have been on a downward trend since 2016.
