After pausing all fees at the start of the pandemic, Phoenix Library will begin collecting fees again for long-overdue items in mid-April. Fees can be waived if the item is returned.
There are 58,586 total items that are long-overdue accounting for $1.2 million in total value.
“We feel it’s time to do our due diligence and try to retrieve the materials that people have checked out that have been due for quite some time,” Phoenix Librarian Rita Hamilton said during a Library Advisory Board meeting last week.
