Phoenix to require police, fire staff, park rangers to be trained on human trafficking signs

A Phoenix task force voted Wednesday to require the city’s police and fire employees and park rangers to be trained to identify and report signs of human trafficking.

The task force has been encouraging all city employees, especially public-facing ones, to undergo the 45-minute online course, but this is the first time any city employees have been required to do the training.

The Phoenix Human Trafficking Task Force discussed expanding the requirement to other city departments in the future, including Neighborhood Services.
