A Phoenix task force has selected which 21st century events and people it would like to add to the civil rights memorial in Phoenix’s Eastlake Park.
The task force selected six national entries and six Arizona entries in last week’s meeting.
City staff is now crafting the language to describe each entry in the limited space available. It will bring that wording back to the East Lake Park Civil Rights Memorial Taskforce in its next meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17.
