Council adds more vendors in program’s first month

The city of Phoenix is spending $1.3 million to offer free eviction legal services to residents.

The contract lasts six months and could be expanded for years beyond that if found successful.

Mayor Kate Gallego referenced that studies have shown it is easier to prevent someone from becoming homeless than to lift them out of homelessness.
