Phoenix Sky Harbor officials 'imploring' Congress to fund TSA

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport officials are “imploring” Congress to act to stop airport workers, mainly TSA officers, from continuing to have to work without pay during a partial government shutdown.

Phoenix Aviation Director Chad Makovsky told the Aviation Advisory Board he has signed onto a letter from airport directors across the country that will be released next week, probably on Monday, he said.

“(The letter is) imploring Congress to act to get these employees funded,” Makovsky said during Thursday’s advisory board meeting.
