Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport upgrading Terminal 4 baggage system

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport's Terminal 4 is getting upgrades to its baggage handling system, including the baggage carousels.

Some Phoenix Aviation officials said they also would like to see the airlines who run the system be more organized.

The baggage handling system for the north side of Terminal 4 has been operational since 1988 when the terminal first opened, and much of the equipment is beyond its intended usable life.
