A Friday night shooting and collision in Phoenix left several men hospitalized, including the suspect, police said.

The shooting occurred about 9:10 p.m. Nov. 17 near 36th Street and McDowell Road.

Phoenix officers arrived and found four men with injuries. Three of the men suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to hospitals with what are now considered non-life-threatening injuries, police said in a release. The fourth man was injured by debris from the shooting and was treated on scene by Phoenix Fire Department personnel.

Police said a man entered a business and began firing a handgun, injuring the victims.

The suspect fled the area in a vehicle and was followed by a witness, according to the release.

“The suspect traveled to the area of 44th Street and Campbell Road when he ran a red light causing a collision with two other vehicles,” the release stated.

“The suspect vehicle rolled over causing the man to be injured.”

The suspect was taken to a hospital. The drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the collision also were taken to a hospital. All had non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

“Detectives responded to assume the two related investigations. Evidence located at the scene of the collision links the suspect to the shooting,” police said in the release.

The suspect remains in the hospital receiving treatment. When he is released, police said, he will be booked on several felony charges.
