Phoenix City Council is recommending a cannabis-based company’s application for a liquor license be denied, but the owner of the company is arguing opposition from Phoenix Police and some in the public is based on misinformation about what his company does.
The Grow Room, at Indian School Road and 19th Street, only gives members a space where they can grow cannabis and teaches them how. It does not allow cannabis products to be consumed or sold, said owner Matthew Davidson.
Council only has an advisory role to the state liquor licensing board, which has final approval.
