Phoenix resident helping slow chronic kidney disease

Phoenix resident Sejal Patel didn’t know what to think when she started having anemia symptoms while she was going to medical school.

In 2006, Patel, then 25, had been a Type 1 diabetes patient and now was dealing with end-stage renal disease after her kidney function crashed.
