Phoenix Rescue Mission names new chief development director

Phoenix Rescue Mission has appointed Greg Forney as the organization’s new chief development officer.

Forney has more than two decades of leadership in nonprofit development, marketing, and donor engagement. He will lead fundraising and donor engagement to support Phoenix Rescue Mission’s work.

Phoenix Rescue Mission names new chief development director

Phoenix Rescue Mission has appointed Greg Forney as the organization’s new chief development officer.

Forney has more than two decades of leadership in nonprofit development, marketing, and donor engagement. He will lead fundraising and donor engagement to support Phoenix Rescue Mission’s work.

Forney’s has worked with various organizations such as Food for the Hungry, Langham Partnership USA, and CURE International.

“I consider it a profound honor to walk alongside others in advancing hope, transformation, and healing across the Valley,” Forney said in a press release. “The work that Phoenix Rescue Mission does is crucial to saving the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors. I look forward to doing my part in advancing that work.”

He holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s in communication from Arizona State University, and a master of divinity from Phoenix Seminary. He also holds a certification in nonprofit executive management from Lodestar.

After a recent sabbatical for cancer recovery, Forney is now healthy and cancer-free, and eager to make a meaningful impact in his hometown. Married for 31 years with two children, he is a long-time Phoenix resident who enjoys golf, composing music for nonprofit causes, and coaching youth sports.
