A protest last weekend outside the Arizona Capitol was designed to show displeasure at several bills demonstration organizers said were strongly biased against the state’s LGBTQ community.
The protest, held Jan. 22, saw many LGBTQ community organizers voice frustration of what they are calling anti-LGBTQ bills. They chose this date to congregate on the 50th anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.
Some of the proposed bills seek to put limits on where drag shows can be performed with strict zoning requirements and limited hours to avoid children from seeing them.
