Phoenix Police warn about photo radar citation scam

The Phoenix Police Department is urging residents to be on the lookout for a new scam involving photo radar citation scams, according to a release on Wednesday.

Phoenix began issuing citations for photo radar violations on March 25. Since then, Phoenix Police has received increasing reports about scam texts, phone calls, and emails demanding payment for alleged violations.

In these scams, the sender claims the recipient committed a speeding violation and must pay a fine through a link provided in the message.
