INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
Two 18-year-olds have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of a 17-year-old, and police reported Friday they suspect robbery was the motive that led to the killing.
At about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 23, officers responded to the area of 52nd Avenue and Almeria Road regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Anthony Rabadan, 17, with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital but did not survive, police said.
During their investigation, detectives learned that robbery was the “likely motive” and identified the suspects Salvadora Montenegro and Adrian Summa, both 18, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
They were arrested Jan. 2 on multiple charges, including murder and armed robbery. Montenegro was also booked on charges related to being a prohibited possessor in possession of a firearm.
