Phoenix police search for suspects in fatal Ahwatukee shooting

A 19-year-old man died Friday following a shooting at an Ahwatukee apartment complex, police said.

Phoenix police officers responded about 2:20 a.m. July 12 to a shooting call at 11025 S. 51st St. where they found two men with gunshot wounds in the complex’s swimming pool area. Both were taken to a hospital where Kashmir Vaughn died. The other victim had non-life-threatening injuries and was released.

Detectives took over the investigation, and initial information indicates that two groups of people were arguing inside the fenced pool area where the shooting occurred.
