Phoenix police make arrest in fatal shooting

Jovante Harvey, 39, has been arrested as the suspect in the murder of Willie Harvey that happened on Jan. 5, Phoenix police reported Thursday.

There is no family relationship between the victim and the suspect, according to a release.

At about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 5, officers were called to a shooting at an apartment complex near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road.

When they arrived, they found three men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Fire department personnel responded and rushed two of the men to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The third man, Willie Harvey, was treated but died from his injuries at the scene, the release stated.
