Phoenix plans to put artists on display near Rio Salado trail

With more activity coming to the area near Central Avenue and the Salt River, Phoenix’s Parks Department is laying out a welcome mat for the hiking trail and wildlife observation area there.

On a 1-acre property between planned new development and the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area, the city of Phoenix plans a “demonstration area” that will have seating, shade structures, native landscaping, a water station and art installations.
