Phoenix plans three new parks, renovates many others

The city of Phoenix opened its 188th park this spring and has three more on the way, along with renovations and upgrades to many other parks and preserves.

Parks and Recreation staff outlined some major projects in the upcoming $332.3 million five-year capital improvement plan for the department to the Parks Board during its meeting last week. They also noted some projects completed in the past year.

“I love these meetings because we get to see all of this funding come to life in these great projects around the city,” said Board Chair Kelly Dalton.
