First $208M comes this month, next half comes in 2022

Phoenix City Council is beginning discussions of how to spend $416 million in coronavirus relief funds it will receive as a result of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan that Congress approved in March.

Phoenix officials anticipate the city will receive the first half of this funding, $208 million, this month.

There are federal guidelines around what the COVID-19 relief funds can be used for. American Rescue Plan funds must be to address costs incurred because of the pandemic, though that can be broad.
