Phoenix PD investigates fatal motorcycle crash in West Valley

A 48-year-old man is dead after police said he apparently lost control of his motorcycle near 44th and Highland avenues.

Officers arrived at the crash site about 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15 to find Christopher Young with serious injuries. Young was taken to a  hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Preliminary information suggests that Young was northbound on 44th Avenue from Highland Avenue when he lost control of the motorcycle and fell on the road. Speed is believed to be a factor, police said, adding further details will be determined through an accident reconstruction process.
