A man is dead, and a search for a suspect in the shooting is underway, Phoenix police said Wednesday.
The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m. Dec. 20 at Black Canyon Highway and Thomas Road where police found a man in his early 60’s with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died, police said.
Officers spoke to witnesses and learned the man walked up to the restaurant and said he was shot. Police said they checked the area and found evidence of a shooting inside a room at a nearby hotel.
