Phoenix police are asking witnesses to call in with tips to help solve an early morning homicide Sunday at a house where hundreds of people fled following a shooting, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 2:35 a.m. Nov. 12.

“Officers responded to a large party call at a house near Camelback Road and 55th Avenue. Officers got to the house and found a chaotic scene with hundreds of people running away from the house,” a Phoenix Police Department release stated.

Officers found Carlos Vences Jr., 23, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Phoenix Fire Department personnel took Vences to a hospital. He did not survive, police said.

Detectives are interviewing dozens of witnesses, according to the release, and “investigators believe other witness that were at the party have knowledge of what led up to this deadly shooting and may know the person(s) responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-Witness or 480-Testigo. Tips will stay anonymous, police said.
