Phoenix’ oldest city building scheduled for rehab work

Historic Duppa site dates back to 1895 and tells a story about the city’s earliest days

Editor's note: This article has been updated to clarify the construction date of the Duppa-Montgomery Adobe. While some historical records from the city of Phoenix and other sources previously cited 1868, in 1987 historians confirmed that the building was constructed in 1895. Since that time, the City of Phoenix has used 1895 as the verified construction date.
