A 54-year-old Phoenix man was sentenced to 15 months in prison plus three years of supervised released for fraudulent applications to receive Paycheck Protection Program loans, the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Arizona announced Wednesday in a release.
According to the release, Jamar Johnson admitted he submitted false applications to obtain PPP loans on behalf of his entity, CBL Worldwide II.
One of the applications stated Johnson’s company has 73 employees and a more than $4.8 million payroll. In reality, his company has no employees and no payroll, but Johnson received $1,007,650 in PPP loans.
