Phoenix man sentenced for Covid-19 fraud scheme, firearm offenses

A 44-year-old Phoenix man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to numerous charges involved in a COVID-19 fraud scheme, the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Arizona announced in a news release Wednesday.

Mohammed Maio pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and bank fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, bank fraud, felon in possession of a firearm, and materially false statement during the acquisition of a firearm.
