Valley man gets 18 years for shooting, robbery at Phoenix Central Avenue store

A 35-year-old Phoenix man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for a 2024 robbery during which he pistol-whipped and shot a victim inside the Phoenix Soles store on Central Avenue, authorities said.

Junn Alan Quinto Coleman, who was sentenced this week, pleaded guilty to Hobbs Act Robbery, a federal crime that prohibits actual or attempted robbery that affects interstate commerce, and discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, according to a release from the Arizona district of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

A 35-year-old Phoenix man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for a 2024 robbery during which he pistol-whipped and shot a victim inside the Phoenix Soles store on Central Avenue, authorities said.

Junn Alan Quinto Coleman, who was sentenced this week, pleaded guilty to Hobbs Act Robbery, a federal crime that prohibits actual or attempted robbery that affects interstate commerce, and discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, according to a release from the Arizona district of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Coleman and an accomplice robbed Phoenix Soles streetwear store on Central Avenue in Phoenix on Jan. 2, 2024. Coleman pointed a firearm at those inside the store. He then pistol-whipped and shot one man in the shoulder, the release stated.

Coleman and his accomplice stole cash, merchandise and jewelry during the crime. Investigators with the FBI and the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry identified Coleman from his facial tattoos, law enforcement officials said.
